One Church—United across the Valley

As we have been working hard to make the necessary changes to be a healthy, united church across the city and as we have been working hard to solve our facility constraints, God has provided an important pivot and a compelling opportunity for Christ Church in the East Valley.

We believe God is leading us and providing a way for us to solve our facility constraints and to multiply in the East Valley while better stewarding God's resources.

What This Means for the Gilbert Congregation

We want to reiterate a few things from the video above:

  1. We believe God has provided a church facility in Mesa that will immediately resolve our facility constraints in Gilbert. This provision will allow us to pivot and pause the plans for expansion in Gilbert Town Square. This opportunity will also require new and increased generosity from our church family across the city—to purchase the property, to launch the campus, and to sustain a fourth congregation.

  2. We believe God is calling us to launch a new congregation in Mesa with 1,800 or so of our church family going to be a part of the launch. This will require many to pray and go to be part of this new opportunity.

  3. We believe God is leading us to keep our Gilbert congregation located in Gilbert Town Square. This will require many to pray and stay in Gilbert to continue to be a thriving congregation reaching the southeast valley.

What This Means for All Congregations

As part of this new season, we are implementing a unified approach to preaching that will include video delivery from our Senior Lead Pastor, Adam Bailie, on up to 25% of weekends across all congregations. This allows us to remain united under the same teaching, even as we continue to gather locally with all the elements of worship in person—singing, communion, prayer, pastoral presence, and fellowship.

We believe this adjustment is both a strategic necessity and a spiritual opportunity for us to grow together as one church family in multiple locations, including the new Mesa congregation.
